Former pub lanlord fined for fire offences

A former pub landlord of The Star Public House in Hillingdon, West London, has been ordered to pay a total of £16.015 in fines and costs for serious breaches of fire safety law following a prosecution brought by the London Fire Brigade. Mr Bhupinder Singh Mann pleaded guilty to 16 contraventions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. (more…)

Fire spread in apartment buildings

The Government has commissioned a research project exploring fire spread in apartment buildings. The study has been prompted by recent incidents where fires have spread rapidly through roof voids and hidden cavities despite cavity fire barriers being in place. (more…)
